Business Analytics Dashboard — How It Works
An interactive, offline-style reporting experience with generated business transactions, sessions and marketing spending. Charts and insights use deterministic calculations rather than connected accounting tools.
The business problem
Owners often see revenue and transactions in separate places without an easy way to compare channels, products, periods and trends.
What this demonstration actually does
- Select Cedar & Stone (home services), Juniper Lane (boutique retail) or Harborline Goods (e-commerce)
- Change 7-day, 30-day, 90-day, 12-month and all-time filters; focus channels and categories
- Inspect revenue, paid transactions, average order value, conversion, customers and marketing spending
- View trend/channel/category/funnel charts, rule-based insights, a conversion what-if slider and transaction drill-downs
- Search/sort transactions and export CSV records from the filtered table
Who it's for
- Service teams comparing referral sources and booking volume
- Retailers evaluating category demand and returning customers
- E-commerce sellers comparing traffic channels, conversions and refunds
How to run the demo
- Open the dashboard on Cedar & Stone Home Services and review the KPI cards.
- Select Juniper Lane Boutique, then Harborline Online Goods and observe KPIs and charts change to that dataset.
- Choose 90 days; open the channel and category dropdowns to narrow results.
- Scroll to Transaction explorer, search for a record, open View and inspect the synthetic detail.
- Click Export visible CSV to download the matching records; use Reset all filters to restore the starting view.
Sample walkthrough
Open Harborline Online Goods, select 90 days, filter the Paid search channel and Travel goods category. Compare the KPI totals with the filtered transaction view, then export the CSV.
What a business owner gains
A common language for performance, operational trends and decisions—without asking owners to interpret disconnected spreadsheets.
How a customized production solution could work
With consent and proper security, a customer project could integrate selected POS, commerce, accounting, advertising and analytics systems; standardize definitions and add scheduled refresh and authorized access. The demo has no live connector.
Privacy, accuracy and reset behavior
All transactions and customer codes are generated synthetic records bundled in the app. Charts and CSV are calculated locally from the selected data. The dataset ends September 30, 2026; it is not live and offers no predictive accuracy guarantee.
Launch or return to the demo and use its reset control as described above.
Common questions and troubleshooting
Do these numbers reflect a real company?
No. They are generated fictional transactions and sessions.
Why do some KPIs change after selecting a filter?
Metrics and charts are recomputed from the filtered records and matched synthetic sessions.
What does conversion improvement mean?
It is a hypothetical slider illustration, not a business forecast.
Will the CSV include what I selected?
The transaction export uses the current filtered transaction table and its search context; inspect the file before relying on it.
